Step into the world of Dr. Chase Becker, a midwife and doctor who has volunteered in Africa for over 12 years and continues to dedicate her life to improving maternal and neonatal care.
Alongside Dr. Jan Becker (PhD), Dr. Chase co-founded an international NGO focused on saving mothers’ and babies’ lives through obstetric emergency training, essential medical resources, and a purpose-built maternity operating theatre and training clinic.
Recognised by the Tanzanian Ministry of Health for achieving the largest reduction in maternal and neonatal deaths, their work includes Jan’s Hands-On Training (HOT) Champion Program — empowering midwives to perform life-saving neonatal resuscitation at the bedside during real emergencies, transforming skills, beliefs and outcomes.
This documentary is evocative, confronting and deeply human — capturing the grit, hope and compassion of people committed to saving lives.
